Discovery
of the world of radioactive waste
ONDRAF/NIRAS has had a travelling exhibition since 1996.
The purpose of the exhibition is to provide as much information as
possible about all aspects of radioactive waste. This exhibition is
aimed at the general public and can be set up in public buildings.
The facility exists in four languages (among others in English) and
can be adapted to the available space. |

Science
within everyone's grasp
The
travelling exhibition aims to answer the questions of people who are interested
in radioactive waste management and want to see for themselves how this
waste is managed in practice. The exhibition is also designed to dispel
people's doubts about radioactivity.
It focuses on four themes:
| |
the
origin of radioactive waste in a socio-historical context |
| |
the
phenomenon of radioactivity |
| |
the
short and medium-term management of radioactive waste |
| |
the
long-term management of radioactive waste (disposal) |
A
dialogue area
Visitors can explore the exhibition on their own or accompanied
by a guide, who is well-trained in the subject matter. The many visual
aids and other interactive media used ensure that everything is presented
in a very concrete way.
