The tasks of ONDRAF/NIRAS relating to the management of enriched fissile materials, materials containing plutonium, and unused or irradiated enriched materials, include the transport and interim storage of these materials from the moment ONDRAF/NIRAS assumes responsibility for them.

To date, the operators who are in possession of these fissile materials have not asked ONDRAF/NIRAS to assume responsibility for surplus quantities of fissile materials.
